About The Artist
I
specialise in creating bright, vibrant pastel
paintings, using intense colour, lighting and
atmospheric effects, which enable me to
transform simple subjects into the magical. I
focus on Italian, Mediterranean and English
themes, from landscape to more close-up studies
of windows, doorways, floral and still-life
subjects. I also enjoy working in pen and wash

Born in 1952, I come from a
long line of artists and can trace my ancestry
back to Richard Wilson, the well-known 18th
century English “romantic” painter. I studied at
the City of London Polytechnic and the Wimbledon
School of Art before embarking on a career as
freelance artist and illustrator. |

In addition to book-jacket
illustration, I have produced work for
television, films and museums, and have painted
murals for commercial companies, and more
recently, as a Lecturer in Art and Design. |
|
My first love, however, has
always been landscape painting. Capturing the
effects of lighting and atmosphere, enables me
to turn simple objects into the magical, always
with the intention to convey the very essence of
the subject, rather than just merely state the
obvious. |

Work has been exhibited in
various galleries in London and the South East. |
