Born in 1966 to Sicilian
parents, Teresa Scannella has lived in Woking
all her life. Teresa works as a beauty therapist
in Woking and her artistic skills are reflected
in both her work and in her art.
As a mainly self taught
artist, Teresa grew up with a love of drawing
but didn’t take it any further until she
discovered her talent for oil painting with the
guidance of Stuart Wilson at his White Rose Art
Group in Woking which she joined in 2006.

She has made it her aim to
raise money for the Alzheimer's Society through
sales of her prints, “my mother has had
Alzheimer's for over 20 years and this is my way
of raising much needed funds for the tremendous
work the Society does.

I have had a tremendous
response for my Poppy picture which was my first
attempt at painting. I have also been inspired
by the landscape and sea of Sicily and enjoy
both painting and photographing the scenery. I
am planning to do more portraits and studies of
the human form in pastels and charcoal.
