About The Artist

I have been an artist most of my life. I was trained at Bournemouth College of Art and Design and have since developed a keen eye for detail and use of colour.

My work has covered a wide range of subjects and styles, including landscape, marine, architectural, portraiture and fantasy, using watercolour, acrylic, gouache, or mixed media.  Variety has been an essential part of my work, with equal opportunities for a disciplined study or a creative self-expression.

I now work mainly on art commissions using watercolour or acrylic and would be happy to discuss your specific requirements.

About The Artist

A little about me and how and why I paint.

When I see a canvas, I never get artist's block, I see my next great adventure starting. I'm on a journey without a plan that is constantly evolving. Each brush or palette knife stroke turns into something wonderful that eventually turns into a painting. That Is true art to me, rather than planning every step of the way, but who am I to say?

I am new to painting compared to many other artists and totally self-taught. I never studied at art school and have no art qualifications, but does that make my art unworthy? Can I even call myself an artist? I guess we all have to start somewhere but at least I'm honest enough to admit it and still place great love and passion into every painting I paint.

I have used every painting medium available but found my true love in acrylics. I started painting all sorts of things including trees, waterfalls, fields, sunsets etc. until my wife asked me to paint her a flower painting.
"Paint flowers!" I said, but I gave it a go, and surprisingly my wife was pleased. Since then, I have developed a unique way of painting flowers which I absolutely love. I mix my own heavy-bodied abstract paint and paint Impasto-style impressionist flowers.

After selling my art at various fairs and shows around the UK, I have decided it's now time to build a website to display it in a much easier fashion. I truly hope my paintings bring you as much pleasure as they did for me painting them.

I will post free within the UK. If you live outside the UK and wish to purchase my art, please contact me and I will be happy to find out shipping costs for you.

Please visit my website to view all of my artworks.

Blessings Gary

"The Mayor of Reigate loved one of my paintings so much that I donated it to her to have on her office wall. A very proud moment for me!"

About The Artist

Exhibiting at the Royal Academy Summer exhibition at the age of 18 was a pivotal moment of my life, as it set my mind on focusing on art as a career .

I have since sold art at the Battersea Arts Fair, held several solo exhibitions in Belgravia and taken part in various group shows in London.

I also taught art for several years .

I have, over time, painted portraits which have been commisioned and have recently started painting dog portraits.

Although I see myself as a painter /printmaker , my specialism is drypoint engraving . . a technique that suits my subtle and now distinctive style perfectly .
