About The Artist

I was born in Manchester in 1958, and from an early age I loved to draw and paint. I studied Art and Art History A level, and graduated from Manchester with a BA Hons in 1980. I then moved to London and worked at The London Design Studio for two years as a textile designer, and then as a freelance designer for over fifteen years.

My designs sold in London, New York, and Paris. I now live in Hampshire and have returned to painting full time. I love to travel, especially to Italy, and I sketch wherever I go.

About The Artist

Chris has been painting since his school days and after a career in design and marketing, now paints full time from his studio in South Devon.
Most of his paintings are of the countryside and coastline of southern England where he tries to capture the beauty and sometimes the savagery of the changing seasons.

He works mainly in oils and tends to use the palette knife in preference to the brush, as he likes the depth and richness of colour this offers.
His work is in private collections in both the US and Europe.
