About The Artist

David has done a little painting for many years, but it is only in his recent retirement that he has begun to take it more seriously.

David worked professionally as a cinematographer, and was employed for thirty years at the BBC Television Film Unit. It is the skills learnt in his profession, of composition, perspective, lighting and colour that he endeavours to bring to his paintings.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, photography plays a large part in the inspiration for his paintings and he works entirely from his own photographs.
He can be inspired by almost any subject, but a lifelong love of the sea results in a strong bias towards maritime subjects.

David’s preferred medium is water soluble oils on prepared board.

About The Artist

Debbie was brought up in a small family run flower bulb nursery just on the outskirts of London. She discovered her passion for photography when she left school. With a love of art and a curiosity to know more about photography, she enrolled at her local college to study an A-level in the subject. An ever-growing fascination for the natural world led to her applying and finally graduating in 2003 with a BA (Hons) Degree in Wildlife Photography.

Since graduating, Debbie has built on her collection of Fine Art images, looking at the natural world, landscapes, travel and more recently bringing the outside world into the studio to focus on the detailed beauty of plant life and flowers.

Debbie is keen to experiment more and is currently working on a limited edition piece titled ‘Four Seasons’ and a set of 12 panoramic images on ‘The Genus Auricula’.

Debbie strives to capture the essence of the natural world, with her focus on many types of flora; her work has a clean, elegant, stylish edge with a true botanical reference. She has won many awards for her fine art photographs including the Royal Horticultural Society’s prestigious Gold Medal for her exhibition titled ‘The Genus Galanthus’.

You can find Fine Art prints by Debbie at a number of select galleries throughout England; alternatively please don’t hesitate to contact Debbie personally as all images found on her website are available as Fine Art prints and/or canvases.
