About The Artist

I graduated from Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art, Mumbai, India. I paint a wide range of subjects including contemporary landscapes, abstract art and Indian mythological / traditional paintings. My favourite medium is acrylic on canvas and my paintings feature cheerful colours and unique textural quality.

I love to paint and am inspired by the whole concept of creativity; the idea that a blank canvas can be turned into something that someone will cherish is very exciting to me.

I also enjoy the fact that a painting can mean different things to different people. I have been very happy painting with acrylics for most of my life.

Although beautiful English countryside landscapes, hills and small villages fascinate me, I would say nature has influenced my style. I think that subconsciously, whatever I have seen has had an effect on me, teaching me about form, colour, technique and texture and I like to think I have absorbed these lessons into the work I do.

About The Artist

My main area of expertise is fine-detailed pencil drawings. Previously, I always used graphite pencil but have now ventured into coloured pencils and have built up a portfolio.

From an early age I began doing commission work, but other priorities meant I was never able to fulfil my potential as an artist.

The creation of Internet and support of UK Coloured Pencil Society has now inspired me to promote and share my work with a much greater network of people.

Professional prints of selected work are available for purchase from my website.

About The Artist

I was born in 1975 and began art from 7 years old. I studied Fine art at University and have an MA in Christian Counselling.

I personally believe that paintings as media share the heart of the painter who wishes to record and leave the moment we encounter through our daily lives.

I hope that I never stop expressing the beauty of nature and humans who struggle to discover the reality of their lives, different from those of yesterday.

It might seem delicate or subtle, but valuable enough to keep through our whole lives. For pursuit of happiness, I think we should even listen to the whispering wind and I believe that every answer is waiting for us, there in nature.

I have always been intrigued by water and how the light distorts the colours reflecting from the surface. The pond in Hartley Wintney is full of wildlife, and is an ideal place to sit and contemplate. I wanted the scarecrow who stands there to appear alive, but not to the extent of frightening away the children! I was impressed as to how well preserved he was and well-dressed too.

About The Artist

I am a Fine Artist based near Hartley Wintney in Hampshire but I also spend a few months of the year in Marbella in Spain where I paint on location.

I studied ‘visual communications’ and completed a foundation course in the late 1980’s – gaining a distinction at the Cardiff Institute of Art & Design. I then worked in London as an Art Director for a number of leading agencies before deciding to concentrate on oil painting and pen and ink drawing. I have been classically trained and my style has been described as similar to that of the ‘Impressionists’.

My paintings and drawings are for sale and can be viewed on this Surrey Artists site and in the Gallery of my website. I am also available to undertake commissioned work.

Nick Walsh - Fine Artist based near Hartley Wintney in Hampshire

Art Lessons

I am in the process of setting up art classes in the evenings for the Fleet area of Hampshire in the UK, and also in Marbella in Spain. I will naturally be teaching adult students how to paint in oils, and will also be concentrating on developing their drawing techniques.

The objective of the courses will be to focus on individual requirements. Everybody has their own preferences regarding what they like to paint or draw. I will endeavour to improve a student’s skill level, so they become more confident and proficient.

I also will be organising groups to join me during some weekends drawing and painting landscapes on location.
