Hi, my name is Colette. Thank you for looking at some of my recent portraits.

I have been an artist for many years, as has my husband. My father also.

If you are interested in commissioning a portrait, be it of yourself, your loved ones, or pets, please phone so I may discuss the details, or email me at the above address.

To give you a guide as to price, paintings on view here are on canvas, in oils, at a size of 30cms x 40cms. This is a good size for either a single or double portrait, but different dimensions can be worked out. As to price: At this size, a single would be £110; a double, (either 2 persons or pet and person), £150. Delivery extra.

I am happy to talk with you to discuss the various aspects of painting a portrait that you will love.

About The Artist

My main area of expertise is fine-detailed pencil drawings. Previously, I always used graphite pencil but have now ventured into coloured pencils and have built up a portfolio.

From an early age I began doing commission work, but other priorities meant I was never able to fulfil my potential as an artist.

The creation of Internet and support of UK Coloured Pencil Society has now inspired me to promote and share my work with a much greater network of people.

Professional prints of selected work are available for purchase from my website.

I also do commissions in Graphite and coloured pencils. Prices are from £120. Please contact me.

I love colour and I remember feeling excited when looking at all the flowers in full bloom. Ramster Gardens is a magical location, and has an enormous range of trees and plants. I used a large combination of warm colours for the foreground and cool colours for the background, to give an impression of distance.
The end result is very close to the actual scene.

I am a Fine Artist based near Hartley Wintney in Hampshire but I also spend a few months of the year in Marbella in Spain where I paint on location.

I studied ‘visual communications’ and completed a foundation course in the late 1980’s – gaining a distinction at the Cardiff Institute of Art & Design. I then worked in London as an Art Director for a number of leading agencies before deciding to concentrate on oil painting and pen and ink drawing. I have been classically trained and my style has been described as similar to that of the ‘Impressionists’.

My paintings and drawings are for sale and can be viewed on this Surrey Artists site and in the Gallery of my website. I am also available to undertake commissioned work.

I am in the process of setting up art classes in the evenings for the Fleet area of Hampshire in the UK, and also in Marbella in Spain. I will naturally be teaching adult students how to paint in oils, and will also be concentrating on developing their drawing techniques.

The objective of the courses will be to focus on individual requirements. Everybody has their own preferences regarding what they like to paint or draw. I will endeavour to improve a student’s skill level, so they become more confident and proficient.

I also will be organising groups to join me during some weekends drawing and painting landscapes on location.

Ducks at Hartley Wintney

This painting epitomises the saying ‘being in the right place at the right time’.

I was sitting on the bank of the pond for a while, just watching and listening to the birds coming and going. After realising I wasn’t a threat, a pair of ducks came out of the water and passed by, right in front of me. The light was in a position to make the border between the pond and dry land indistinguishable.
