About The Artist

As a self-taught artist, painting has always been a form of meditation for me; a spiritual expression, a way to relax and still the mind.

My inspiration comes from the beauty that nature holds and the elements that surround us. My dreams also have an important influence on my work, evoking strong images in my mind, which, emerge on the canvas in an abstract form.

I work in Oils and Acrylics, combined with Textures, which allows me to explore feeling and emotion through the use of vibrant colours and movement.

About The Artist

Born in London in 1968, I am a largely self-taught artist based in Lightwater and take much of my inspiration from animals and their antics.

Working in pastel pencils, particularly the Carbothello brand, I strive to capture the personality and mood of my subject, harnessing the pencils' capacity for high detail and their silky texture in creating a realistic fur effect and expressive liquid eyes which have become the trademark of my work.

I work under the name of Dapplegrey Art to highlight my love of animals, with a particular bias towards horses.

Much of my work comes from commissions in the form of pet portraits; nothing can compare to the exhilaration of seeing someone's delight at having their best friend come to life in a piece of original art.

More recently, I have begun undertaking children's' portraits as well. Many of my stock pictures are taken from imagination and with the addition of a touch of quirky humour here, a pinch of fantasy there and a large helping of mischief thrown in, the aim is to build a highly stylised and unusual gallery.

I am a member of Frimley and Camberley Society of Arts and I have prints on sale in various outlets in Camberley. I am an occasional demonstrator, a regular on the Isle of Wight art and craft fayre scene and have sent commissions as far afield as Australia and India.

About The Artist

Romy Rey is a Swiss Artist located in Richmond, Surrey (West London), who questions one’s perception of reality. Some of her paintings are a re-interpretation of landscapes she has visited during her extensive travels, others render familiar elements in variable scales and combinations or portray striking images of ancient or tribal objects in imaginary settings.

Born in Zurich, Switzerland, Romy studied in Paris and Geneva and settled in England where she worked as a translator and a partner in bookshops before becoming a painter.

Her work is broken down into four categories –  Ancient and Tribal, Geometrics, Dreamscapes and Landscapes. Romy’s work has been displayed in galleries throughout the UK. Private Colllections are also held in the UK, Switzerland, France, Germany, Mexico and Brazil.
