About The Artist

"A self-taught, self-inspired and self-motivated artist who loves seeing images in my mind materialise on a blank sheet of paper. Detail, colour, vibrancy and emotion play a large part in my unique art as well as many world philosophies.

Being human and everything that comes with this, is portrayed in the art and due to the detail, can take many hundreds of hours to complete, typically over many months or a year or more.

As a working Optometrist, I am also very much interested and aware of how eye diseases impact life and the viewer's ability to see art. I can truly vouch that the visual sense is a true blessing and like all things, there is no guarantee it will always be there.

This is also something that inspires me to draw, as good sight, stable hands, good mobility and independence are to be celebrated today, as they cannot be guaranteed in the future.

My art cannot just be glanced at, rather to be viewed and studied with patience, then more and more will be revealed."

Black and White Ink Artwork - It's an Ohm Life - Also available in colour - Mital Patel

It’s an Ohm Life – 2009

Ohm is the transcendental vibe of the universe and in Hindu philosophy, vibrates within all human beings. It is one of the many things that connects humans together.
Ohm is sounded during meditation and this art was inspired to help re connect all humans. The many characters detailed within the art – each has their own journey and story and by looking closely, you will see new people and faces.
This art is also available in both colour and black and white high-quality print.

Contemporary Art digital prints Woking Surrey Artist Mital Patel-Shape in Dream

The Shape in My Dream

In October 2021 I had a dream. In that dream appeared a shape. The next day I drew the shape.

Since then, I have been working on this art which is the first drawing I have done in 10 years.
The concept is about re-awakening. What was once dormant needs to be released. The quote reflecting this is,
” The purpose of human life is not to be happy. The purpose of human life is to awaken to who we truly are”.
This will be the first in a new series of artworks over the coming years.
