About The Artist

I graduated from Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art, Mumbai, India. I paint a wide range of subjects including contemporary landscapes, abstract art and Indian mythological / traditional paintings. My favourite medium is acrylic on canvas and my paintings feature cheerful colours and unique textural quality.

I love to paint and am inspired by the whole concept of creativity; the idea that a blank canvas can be turned into something that someone will cherish is very exciting to me.

I also enjoy the fact that a painting can mean different things to different people. I have been very happy painting with acrylics for most of my life.

Although beautiful English countryside landscapes, hills and small villages fascinate me, I would say nature has influenced my style. I think that subconsciously, whatever I have seen has had an effect on me, teaching me about form, colour, technique and texture and I like to think I have absorbed these lessons into the work I do.

About The Artist

Born in London, Elaine graduated from Art College with several qualifications covering Screen Printing, Surface Patterning and Art& Design.
She temporarily put her hard earned artistic talent aside to focus on family and work commitments and only just recently decided to pick up her brushes again and splash out some very striking unique artwork, which is making her artwork more and more collectable including pieces from her ‘Native American’, ‘Hidden Beauty’ and ‘Shadows of Light’ collection which are ever increasingly becoming very few and far between to find her catalogued originals.

About The Artist

Born in what was the British Protectorate of Aden in South Yemen in 1955. The love of painting, drawing and the beauty of the written word has dominated my life. My professional career began in corporate design leading to exhibition and interior design, culminating in my own design practice in the early eighties.

The spiritual aspect of humanity is a strong influence in my life, and as a result I entered the Benedictine monastery of Quarr Abbey for several years, where I was introduced to bookbinding and the restoration of books. Since leaving monasticism I have continued to develop fine painting, calligraphy and bookbinding.

The love of blending colour and texture in painting, the use of line in drawing, the beauty of the written word in calligraphy and the three dimensional aspect of bookbinding, bring together elements that compliment each other well.

The majority of my work is through commissions, supported by solo and joint exhibitions.

These include Architectural, Garden, Botanical, Portraiture and General - The selection on this site gives an indication of the varied work of the artist. More can be seen on his two websites (see the links above).

Reference for my work is either from life, photographs or a combination of both, whichever the occasion demands. Often many commissions are gifts and therefore a surprise, or maybe circumstances do not permit, so working with the subject matter is not all ways possible. In such cases a selection of images of the same subject is always a great help.

I use various media; oils, watercolour, pastel, acrylic, inks and pencil (monochrome). I enjoy texture in my work wherever possible along with detail and tend to be traditional in my approach. Commissions for some clients have been strongly impressionist and or using vivid colour allowing freedom in colour and form.

Weybridge Cricket Club Ground

Painting of cricket match on the club ground, Weybridge Green. It was a charity donation to the cricket club to raise money for their new practice nets. The painting was auctioned at the annual President’s Day dinner and purchased by Martin and Dawn Snow. It is currently hanging in their pub, the British Volunteer, in Weybridge.

About The Artist

I grew up in Cape Town, South Africa, graduating from Rhodes University with a BA degree in Fine Art (Painting) in 1990, having been fortunate enough to study under George Coutouvidis. In 1995, we moved to England, and after many years in formal employment, I resumed painting full-time.

I paint a wide range of subjects, enjoying landscapes the most. Drawing inspiration from nature, I am especially interested in the influence of light. Capturing mood and atmosphere through establishing a sense of place; use of tone, colour, texture and line, elements intrinsic to painting, are what I strive to achieve in my work. Primarily using oils on canvas, I enjoy working in other mediums as well.

The English Romantic painters Constable and Turner, as well as the French Impressionists, Monet and Pissarro, are key influences in my work.

For the last few years, I have been working on a series of South African landscapes and coastal scenes; British landscapes; Italian scenes of Venice and Tuscany; French landscapes and rural villages in the Dordogne region; as well as “London by Night”, a series of black and white paintings based on the evocative photos of London in 1920-1930s, taken by Francis Sandwith.

About The Artist

Maureen Domoney is an artist of many disciplines now specialising in portraiture. Maureen studied at Goldsmiths University and worked for many years in theatre before returning to her passion for portraiture.

Maureen is an artist who takes a personal approach, taking the time to really get to know her client’s. The results of which show in the depth of character clearly visible in her oil painting and pastel work.

“It is important to me not only to produce a visible likeness but to explore that depth of character and try to convey that something extra.”

Maureen is based in Cranleigh, Surrey and specialises in pastel or oil and prefers to work from ‘life, but commissions can also be undertaken from photographs, so wherever you are, do get in touch.
