About The Artist

Since childhood, I have always enjoyed observing nature in all her finery; particularly land, sea and skyscapes.

Recently, I have rekindled my love of painting using acrylics, exploring unusual and ‘other worldly‘ occurrences in nature. I’m continuously inspired to paint by merging memories and travels, combined with imagination. This enables me to travel freely in my creative process to unique places, colour and content.

About The Artist

Ingrid Skoglund is a mix of German and Swedish, although born in Ash in Surrey where she still lives and paints.

She has had a lifelong passion for watercolour although her main focus for over 20 years was as Managing Director of a demanding business. Selling out a few years ago, allowed her finally to take up painting full time.

Ingrid is pretty much self-taught, so doesn't have too many rules and loves trying to push watercolour to its limits - in particular to mix it with dye and foil to give a chaotic vibrancy . She also like to mix botanical accuracy with the abstract . She is currently building her portfolio of galleries and exhibitions and is amazed by the interest in her work.

Ingrid's website includes galleries of her paintings of views, animals, flowers, portraits and figures, acrylics and abstracts.

"I work unconventionally with various media to produce unexpected and unpredictable effects. I rarely use a brush and am currently working with the toxic fumes of alcohol ink and isopropyl although the beautiful translucent effects are worth it. A photo of the work just can’t capture it so if you like the image – the real thing is even better – just beautiful. I also often work with acrylic and silicone oil – pushing the mix around with a hot hairdryer and finishing off with a blow torch.

I don’t do cards or prints and I can’t replicate a piece of work . If you buy one of my pieces it’s not just original it’s totally unique. "

Awards

Winner of the Chairman's Award for the public vote at autumn 2016 Woking Art Society Exhibition at The Lightbox Gallery in Woking.

She is seen below receiving the award from the Chairman below for her painting A Day at The Seaside.

In 2017 Ingrid was named 'Artist of The Year' by Pirbright Art Club.

She was also shortlisted by West Of England Royal Academy for her painting We’re Not Afraid Of Anything.

Winner Of The Alliott's Award for Best Contemporary Work at Guildford Art Society Autumn Exhibition 2017 for Yep Tide’s Out, pictured below.

About The Artist

I went to sea at 15 with the Royal Navy and came ashore again 12 years later having experienced typhoons in the Pacific, hurricanes in the Atlantic, the deep freeze of the Arctic and monsoons of the tropics; but such beauty everywhere.

Then after 3 years in commerce which was illuminating but boring, I became a Financial Adviser for the next 47 years, which on balance I found wonderfully fulfilling.

Even after all that time, salt water still flows through my veins but I love the dry land and all its surprises too.

I have had no formal training but had been painting in water colour on and off for about twenty years. After trying acrylics in about 2015 the bug bit: I had to become a painter!

About The Artist

June F Martin, known as Florenca, was born in Dublin. She came to London in the early 70’s and only took up painting a few years ago, not influenced by any great painter but by the galleries in Cork Street London. Prior to this, she only painted for her own enjoyment.

Compositions are in Oil on Canvas. She is especially fond of painting landscapes and has been inspired by views from her travels. She just enjoys painting and would welcome commissions to paint landscapes of your favourite holiday snaps.

About The Artist

Mark is a self-taught artist, and began painting in 1992 after attending classes by Alan Hume, a Staines artist whose draughtsman skills in watercolour and Pastel inspired Mark to start painting in watercolour.

Subsequently, Mark joined the Sunbury Art Group for a few years, but due to business commitments, discontinued painting until some 15 years later. In 2007 he joined the Littleton Artists Group, where he learnt to paint in oils under the tutelage of professional artist John Green.

Mark has exhibited at the Chertsey Gallery and exhibited at the Bank Gallery, Chobham in July 2010.
