Children, Pet and Family Portraits – Commissions

I am a self taught artist based in Shamley Green, Surrey (between Guildford & Cranleigh).
Specialising in children, pet and family portraits, using pencil, charcoal and pastels, I love to capture character and life in my work.

I am able to create portraits from your photographs, tailor-made to suit your requirements.

Example: Portrait

In the gallery, you will find a small selection of recent and favourite work I have produced. A portrait is the perfect gift to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary.

Thank you for viewing my portraits and I hope that you enjoy them.

About The Artist

Based in Shamley Green, Heidi Meadows has started to produce some of the finest pastel, pencil and charcoal portraits of pets, children and adults. Her work is sensitive and her eye for detail allows her to create an excellent likeness.

Heidi recently drew a portrait of her sister’s son, Jonte. From seeing this, friends asked her to do portraits of their children and this led to portraits of their pets.

Heidi studied as a florist at the Welsh College of Horticulture and from there she went to London and worked as a freelance floral decorator for 10 years.

Since having children, that life has come to an end and now, with both children at school, she is working as a successful, full-time animal and portrait artist.

About The Artist

David has done a little painting for many years, but it is only in his recent retirement that he has begun to take it more seriously.

David worked professionally as a cinematographer, and was employed for thirty years at the BBC Television Film Unit. It is the skills learnt in his profession, of composition, perspective, lighting and colour that he endeavours to bring to his paintings.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, photography plays a large part in the inspiration for his paintings and he works entirely from his own photographs.
He can be inspired by almost any subject, but a lifelong love of the sea results in a strong bias towards maritime subjects.

David’s preferred medium is water soluble oils on prepared board.

About The Artist

Surrey-based artist Kerry Regan (founder of kzart) designs artwork for private and corporate clients throughout the UK. She creates beautiful, original paintings which complement her clients’ lifestyles.

‘When people ask what is my painting style I find it very hard to answer. I try not to put limitations on what I do…I paint everything from portraits, seascapes, flowers, buildings, landscapes, abstracts. I generally paint with acrylic as it is incredibly versatile and gives a variety of different effects – I can build up layers of paint for a textured effect which works well on abstracts, or the acrylic can be watered down and used like water-colour paint for a softer image…

For me, painting is my ultimate passion; if I couldn’t pick up my brushes and paint, I would go mad!

My main aim is to create beautiful paintings from which people can get never-ending enjoyment. You can never ‘use up’ a painting; it can last forever if you want it to. I get a real buzz from knowing that I can create something especially for someone. Most of my work is commissioned and I am reaching an increasing number of people through exhibitions and through the Internet.’

Kerry can be commissioned to create beautiful portrait paintings from photographs – She is also a professional photographer, so no need to worry if you don’t have a suitable photo as she can take some shots too.

Kerry believes a portrait painting should be informal in order to reflect the characteristics of the subject – her paintings based on photographic reference record relaxed, spontaneous moments that could never be posed – especially with children!

If you would like to find out more, please contact Kerry to book a portrait consultation to discuss possible styles, sizes, colours etc.

Commissioned artwork starts at around £100. Please contact Kerry for more details on 07947 676 360. Email your details to info@kzart.com to join the exhibition mailing list.
